Come one, come all to the Shire of Misty Highlands on February 6, 2010 for a fun-filled day of learning! We are offering such a wonderful array of classes that you will no doubt feel an awakening in your limbs as your minds are filled to the brim with knowledge. The day’s classes will focus on arts and sciences that require a pen or a needle to complete. Join us as we learn how to draw illuminations, how to cut quills, how to embroider, how to hand-sew period garments, and so many other interesting things! A 50-50 raffle will be held to help offset travel expenses for our gracious teachers. Donations will also be welcome.

Our classroom for this eventful day will be the Quiet Dell Community Center located on RR 6 (no street address) Fairmont, WV 26554. Site will open at 10:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM. Classes will run from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The steward for this event is Lady Rota Egilsdottir. If you would like to share your knowledge with the populace by teaching a class, please contact our class coordinator Lord Bjorn bunhauss Olafsson.

A scrumptious all-day sideboard will be prepared by the hands of Lady Ailionora ingen Fiachra and is included in the site fee. The sideboard will begin at 11:00 AM.

The site fee is $8.00 for persons aged 18 and older. Individuals aged 13 through 17 shall be charged $7.00. Children aged 12 and under are FREE. A $3.00 Non-Member Surcharge will be collected from each adult individual unable to verify SCA membership to troll. There is no pre-registration for this event.

Directions: Best route to I-79. Take Exit 137 East Park Avenue. If you are coming from the North, turn left at the end of the exit onto WV-310. If you are coming from the South, turn right at the end of the exit onto WV-310. Then go about 5.5 miles on WV-310. The community center is on the right and is visibly marked. Word of caution: Mapquest and tools like it may not be helpful in finding this site.
